Arsenal 3 – 1 West Ham United – Arsenal recorded their first Premier League win under new manager Unai Emery after Issa Diops own goal and Danny Welbecks late strike saw West Ham fall to their third straight defeat.

The defensively frail Gunners also lost their attacking fluency following the break but went ahead fortuitously as Alexandre Lacazettes volley across the area deflected in off Diop.

Hector Bellerin then picked out an unmarked Welbeck in added time and the substitute turned to lift his effort past Lukasz Fabianski.

West Ham captain Marko Arnautovic put the visitors in front on 25 minutes, exchanging passes with the impressive Felipe Anderson before slotting low past Petr Cech.

Nacho Monreal equalised five minutes later, slotting into an unguarded net after Bellerins cross deflected into the defenders path off Alex Iwobi.

Both Arnautovic and Robert Snodgrass then fired straight at Cech as the Hammers missed several chances to take the lead again, with former Gunner Lucas Perez also slicing wide late on in search of an equaliser.

Arsenal 3 – 1 West Ham United | English Premier League – Match Highlights

25′ 0 – 1 Marko Arnautovic slots it into the bottom corner past Petr Cech! Sure enough, West Ham get the goal they deserve. Felipe Anderson drives towards the retreating Arsenal defence and lays it off to Marko Arnautovic. The Hammers captain nutmegs Shkodran Mustafi with a pass back to Anderson, who finds Arnautovic again and the striker slots it beyond Petr Cech into the bottom corner from just outside the area. Excellent play from the visitors. More woeful defending from Arsenal.
30′ 1 – 1 Nacho Monreal strikes in leveller from far post! First really cohesive attack, first goal. Henrikh Mkhitaryan plays Hector Bellerin in behind the West Ham defence and his ball across evades Lukasz Fabianskis dive and the arriving Arsenal attackers. But it breaks to Nacho Monreal at the far post and the Spanish defender strikes it past the covering Hammers defenders and in for the equaliser. Alex Iwobi is eventually awarded the assist – the ball mustve flicked his foot on the way through to Monreal.

70′ 2 – 1 [Own Goal] Issa Diop scores an own goal! Its been dire since half-time but the Gunners are ahead with a scrappy goal to match. The ball is bouncing around the West Ham area and is headed in towards Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman holds off his man and volleys a cross round the corner, with the ball rebounding in off Issa Diop, just ahead of the arriving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. A sickener for West Ham and a goal that didnt look to be coming for the hosts.

90+2′ 3 – 1 Danny Welbeck scores 3-1! Icing. Cake. A tired West Ham cant keep up with Hector Bellerin surging down the right. The Spaniard collects and has time to pick out an unmarked Danny Welbeck in the middle. The England striker has even more time to turn and lift his strike into the net beyond Lukasz Fabianski. Arsenal will collect a first Premier League win under Unai Emery. A bright start by West Ham has come to nothing – they are headed for a third straight defeat.
