This Week’s Tweets

Aug 26th, 2009
  • Bah, motivation completely through the floor. #
  • @andyvglnt Tried a couple, but find that the art doesn't have any 'added value' for me, thus novels are cheaper/last longer. in reply to andyvglnt #
  • Right, off to bed. Not quite the epic tweeting I dream of making, but epic is hard in 140 characters. #
  • Gah! My own ugly naked guy is at the window again. #fb #
  • @LadyMcScamp He might not like me calling him 'ugly' naked guy. (Even if it is a Friends reference) in reply to LadyMcScamp #
  • There's something very satisfying about the fastest man on the planet having the surname bolt. It should work like that more often. #
  • So tedious being in lab alone. #
  • @OyeBilly @PrincessZelda eBay items or TV programs? I've already failed on the latter. in reply to OyeBilly #
  • http://twitpic.com/euslg – @PrincessZelda A scientist, I'm afraid the sexy is entirely subjective. #
  • http://twitpic.com/euslg – Oh dear, I really shouldn't be picking photos from their thumbnails. #
  • @PrincessZelda @OyeBilly Give sharks laser beams?! Are you mad! You'll kill us all! #
  • @charltonbrooker Yes. Or at least he does in the book. Oral no less. in reply to charltonbrooker #
  • For a moment I thought twitter had dropped all my followers but @charltonbrooker but no, he's just tweeting a lot. #
  • Uhh, followees I mean. Stupid autospellcheck. If I want to make up words I will. #
  • Was just sword fighting with a glowstick. Unfortunately not a Monkey Island player, so insults would have been wasted. #
  • Woo! Happy birthday to me. Lets hope next year is better than the previous, which was quite frankly epic fail. #
  • Do people still go for the 'western' options at indian restaurants/take aways? I would have thought it rare now. #
  • @PrincessZelda I wouldn't worry, better than the fools who pick the hottest item in an attempt to proove they are 'hard'. in reply to PrincessZelda #
  • @PrincessZelda Point being though, that there is enough variety, and curries are common enough fare, that most will find something. in reply to PrincessZelda #
  • Wow, I have so much rubbish saved on my computer. Scary thing is half of the rubbish is still somewhere on my website. #
  • Can't help thinking the Avatar trailer makes it look like a ridiclous cliched mess with 'unfortunate implications.' Could be wrong of course #
  • IUnless the film subverts the implications in the trailer, I'm pretty sure I could draft out the plot already. #
  • I never know quite what to do when the smoke alarm goes off downstairs. #

  • What the hell? Suddenly Microsoft must think the EU's antitrust legislation is a cakewalk compared to patent trolling in the US. #
  • I appear to be using species of pokemon as curse words. I have no idea why, I can barely name any species of pokemon. #
  • When my mum lost her hair to chemotherapy, the NHS provided a wig, so as she wouldn't need to loose her dignity as well. #welovetheNHS #

  • @slummymummy1 You might want to NSFW such links in future. With tinyURL we have no idea of where they end up. in reply to slummymummy1 #

  • @ninja_kate Ahh no, tomorrow, and I think I'm on a parallel running service. in reply to ninja_kate #
  • The whole concept of etiquette really pisses me off for some reason. Politeness is good, but etiquette can seem so arbitrary… #
  • … seems to be more of a way of enforcing class boundaries than anything out. A chance to laugh at and mock those who aren't 'refined.' #
  • Ugh! This is not an hour to be waking up. Train in just over an hour. #
  • As the early bird leaves the nest, the night lark returns. I think the night lark was stoned. #
  • Hehe, group of people up ahead trying to work out how they had been assigned same seats. Until one group realised they were on wrong train. #
  • And we are off! Shall be in Cambridge shortly before 11am. #
  • Yay, made my connection. #
  • Back in Cambridge. It's been a while. #fb #
  • @thewellis They've built a posh extension bit to Lion Yard, which was still being built last time I was here. Most other bits the same. in reply to thewellis #
  • Anyone want some issues and hang ups. They've served me well for almost 25 years, but I'll be gladly rid of them. #

  • @LadyMcScamp Some vague vertigo, but I'm afraid it comes as part of a package deal of low self esteeme and ridiculous relationship issues. in reply to LadyMcScamp #
  • Seriously, it really is bloody silly. You'd have thought recognising that you were a fuckwit would be a good step to curing it. #
  • @LadyMcScamp Hehe, doesn't help that I'm sure one of my issues has vaguely anti-feminist basis. Can you have moral issues with own issues? in reply to LadyMcScamp #
  • @LadyMcScamp Alcohol is recommend with alarming regularity when I have moments of crazy, or realisation of crazy. in reply to LadyMcScamp #

  • I really wish the guy in the flat opposite would stop walking round naked with the lights on and windows open. Think its on purpose. #
  • Sorry to everyone about self-loathing tweets last night. I'll try and keep future moments of crazy away from twitter, even when pissed. #

  • Haha! Do you really expect me to believe someone who doesn't even understand the difference between force and energy? http://bit.ly/oIbYB #
  • RT @bengoldacre: The Billion Dollar Gram: this guy's really good http://bit.ly/aoHDY #
  • Errm, regarding #Watson24hour surely its a load of rubbish, otherwise we'd all notice our sundials were wrong. #

  • Back home, downloading a 3.05GB file, and it keeps stalling. Last night got to 99% ~270kb left, yet it won't download that last bit. Gah! #
  • JamesGDon't suppose anyone wants to leap into the Windows 7 RD (7100) X64 iso and grab the last meg or so with a hex editor for me? #
  • @botherer Oh snap, but I'm up in Scotland, so its even more stupid. in reply to botherer #
  • And there I thought it was just my phone playing silly buggers. DDoS though… #
  • Pleasantly drunk. On a thursday. Hmm. #
  • Gah! My huge download has just dropped back to 0%. Most the file stuff is there, but the download managed is confused. Give up. #
  • @calhardesty Oh piss off you spammy twit. #
  • @slummymummy1 It'll be because the 'style sheets' aren't loading, they tell a website what to look like. It'll sort itself out. in reply to slummymummy1 #
  • @slummymummy1 Probably due to heavy server load, possibly due to the 'Denial of Service' attack earlier. in reply to slummymummy1 #
  • Seems that the Streisand effect takes place even with DDoS attacks a I'm pretty sure more people know about @Cyxymu today than last week. #
  • Downloaded the huge file at work instead, took about six minutes. Computing seemed a bit miffed that I'd even bothered to ask. #
  • Will never block ubiquitin western in milk again. BSA much cleaner and extra cost more than compensated by savings in amount of antibody. #
  • which of course meant nothing to most of my followers. #
  • Why do folk insist on blocking the end of the till when others need to load stuff on the belt? #
  • @kateweb Been sandals weather today and yesterday. Lived in south of Eng growing up, so this isn't just a Scott surprised to see any sun. in reply to kateweb #
  • @domipheus Something to do with the Tattoo perhaps? in reply to domipheus #

  • Trying to get all my MP3s in order, with Album art and everything. #
  • Hour train journey coming up, travelling light, so no entertainment and Sunday papers expensive. Hope twitter will prove entertaining. #
  • Damn, rain; I don't have a coat. This 'travelling light' plan is looking less and less sensible. #fb #
  • Hmm, the work computer appears to have re-named me. Am now James gorgoni apparently. #fb #
  • @SallyPinkPaws Welcome to Twitter. #
  • Oh dear, two out of three things I had planned to do today look like non starters. #
  • Ouch! Today's xkcd feels a touch close to home. Was Randall just calling me boring? I actually feel a bit hurt and insulted. #
  • Bah, not a good day. Was in sweaty mood earlier. Lots of time wasted I think. #
  • Oh bugger, predictive text (which is utterly silly on my qwerty phone anyway) replaced sweary with sweaty. I have dirty mouth, not armpits. #
  • While I appreciate the irony involved in a 'stress awareness' course creating more stress, I don't think this was intended. #
  • @BuckSexington I've been there, stayed in the caravan park opposite on a family holiday when I was little. Is the Spyglass pub still there? in reply to BuckSexington #
  • Being told I may be stressed. No Shit. #
  • @rockpapershot Having to watch a flash tutorial about stress in work. Does the hivemind find any games stressful to play? #
  • Just realised I have major aversion to doubling back. Auto-pilot took me 10m down wrong route on foot, going long way rather than turning. #

  • @rockpapershot What games have inspired you most with a unique/interesting art direction. Is art direction more important than graphics? #
  • @dave_turner Where else do you expect them to keep their Rusks? in reply to dave_turner #

  • @Palestinebat I'm currently grabbing my interwebs over 3G dongle. I doubt it would cope, and would almost certainly send me over my limit. in reply to Palestinebat #

  • @neilhimself Of course, being a Brit living in the US all this is boringly familiar to you. #
  • Just saw a pigeon have a fit and die in front of me. Think someone is poisoning them, saw another dead one yesterday. #
